If you’ve never been to the Turks and Caicos islands, you should definitely consider paying the area a visit, as it is one of the most picturesque parts of the Caribbean.

A favourite with celebrities, Turks and Caicos offers a taste of true luxury, making it a must-visit destination.

If you are a first time visitor, here are a few things you may wish to know about the islands!

Visiting Turks & Caicos: A world class beach

Grace Bay Beach was voted the best beach in the world in the Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Awards in 2016, and it retains its position near the top!

It isn’t hard to see why, with its powdery white sands, clear, clean water, and stunning shades of blue reflected from the sky.

And that’s just during the day! Relax by the beach til nightfall and experience the breathtaking spectacle of a Grace Bay sunset. There’s nothing quite like it in the world!

Great resorts

There are some fantastic options available when it comes to accommodation, with several resorts offering luxurious facilities and great all-inclusive deals so you can have a truly relaxing holiday with everything taken care of.

Blue Haven Resort has an adjacent marina, making it perfect for those looking to experience a marine adventure, a private beach with complimentary access to beach facilities, as well as several restaurants and cafes serving up all the gourmet food you could wish for.

The Alexandra Resort is perfect for couples or families, with intimate suites offering sea views, and units available with full kitchens and laundry facilities. You can also enjoy a game of golf at the resort, or a relaxing day at their spa.

If you end up falling in love with Turks and Caicos, it is also a popular resort for destination weddings, and what could be more memorable than getting wed on the powdery sands of Grace Bay Beach?

Lots to see and do

There is plenty to see and do while visiting, whatever your interests are. From relaxing on the beach or enjoying the facilities at your resort, to heading out for an adventure, there is plenty to experience.

Of course, there are plenty of water sports to enjoy in the beautiful clear waters, from swimming and snorkelling to paddle boarding or jet skiing. You can also pay a visit to the only commercial conch farm in the world in Providenciales, and learn about the life cycle from egg to adult.

Adventurers can explore the limestone Conch Bar Caves on Middle Caicos, which are impressive and extensive. Visitors are not allowed to visit unaccompanied, but guided tours are available.

Cheshire Hall Plantation is a popular historical attraction, offering an insight into the plantation era of 200 years ago, and was once the most important site on Providenciales. The views of the island from Cheshire Hall are also spectacular!

We hope this has given you some insight into what you can expect when visiting Turks and Caicos, and we hope you enjoy your stay if you choose to visit!
